Perform detailed mental health and psycho-social assessments for patients experiencing first-episode psychosis. Provide holistic counselling and coordinate discharge plans by connecting patients to internal and community resources.
Requires a Master of Social Work (MSW) and current membership with the OASW and OCSWSSW. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in a mental health or addiction setting.
Master of Social Worker (MSW) obtained from an accredited School of Social Work. Current membership with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) Certification in the prevention and management of aggressive behaviour is an asset. Two (2) years’ experience in mental health and/or addiction facility or setting required Demonstrated skills in working with a broad range of patient groups and their families. Demonstrated skills in individual and group counselling. Knowledge of and experience in CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing preferred Knowledge of assessment and treatment for problem substance use, addiction and concurrent disorders is an asset. Knowledge/experience in Trauma Informed Care preferred Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast paced/changing environment Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to respond rapidly and decisively to crisis situations Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast paced/changing environment. Excellent decision making skills. Excellent knowledge of community resources. Demonstrated ability to prioritize a consistent and varied workload. Demonstrates cross cultural awareness and sensitivity. Good word processing skills, including MS Office.
