Medcan is recruiting for Sonographers to join our growing high-performance clinical team.
We are seeking an experienced and client focused professional with a great attitude.
The role is accountable for the effective delivery of ultrasound procedures for clients during their Annual Health Assessment and other services at Medcan.
This role will also assist with facilitating the flow of patients through the Clinic and coordinating with other staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service.
Medcan’s sonographer functions as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the reporting physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the requesting physician with the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The sonographer’s role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties.
The sonographer’s work is consistent with his/her education and training and is aligned with Medcan’s policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.
The sonographer is a client focused professional with superior organization and time management skills.
What You’ll Do: Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures.
Review patient medical history, evaluate contraindications, obtain patient consent, perform required ultrasound examinations and document findings.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and basic quality control checks.
Ensure sonography exam results meet facility standards for quality assurance.
Coordinate with cross functional clinic teams to ensure exceptional service and client experience.
What You’ll Need: 1+ years of experience as a sonographer performing examinations such as abdominal exams Breast, transvaginal and transrectal experience is considered an asset Vascular ultrasound experience is considered an asset Member of the CMRITO Ultrasound ARDMS certification Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work independently and collaboratively This is a part-time role, with a minimum availability of two Saturdays per month.
The role is based at our Oakville clinic location (2275 Upper Middle Road East).
Position Pay Range $35.43 - $48.72 CAD per hour Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade.
Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity.
The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
