Candidates must hold an Anaesthesia diploma and certifications in PALS and ACLS. Registration or eligibility with the CRNS and SCRT is also required.

The incumbent provides clinical assistance to anaesthetists, as well as calibrating, troubleshooting and performing repairs on anaesthetic equipment, as required, at all acute care facilities. Individuals in this position have a blended reporting relationship, reporting administratively to the manager, cardio-respiratory services (i.e. payroll, professional issues), financially to the manager of nursing - operating room (i.e. direct purchase authorization, inventory additions/deletions) and receives clinical direction from the department of anaesthesia. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"
