In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Under general supervision, and reporting to the MRI supervisor or designate, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team providing client-centered care, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) special procedures. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating acquisition equipment, including archiving acquired images, and computerized patient data systems.
Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program. Certification as a Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with CAMRT. Three years recent, related experience including two years MRI experience in an acute setting. CPR Certificate - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level
