In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position. Reporting to the Supervisor or designate and working in a computerized and digital imaging environment, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist coordinates/organizes and performs the assigned day-to-day activities in the Nuclear Medicine imaging department; coordinates/assists assigned department duties with fellow technologists and students. Maintains currency with all departmental policies and procedures; and complies with established administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Ensures consistent image/exam quality and test results.
CAMRT certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Graduation from an approved nuclear medicine technology diploma program.
Eligible for CAMRT membership.
Completion of CT education courses or equivalent.
One year recent nuclear medicine experience in an acute hospital setting.
Experience with diagnostic and therapeutic radioisotope procedures
