What You’ll Do As a valued member of our care team, you will

  • Resident Care and Engagement
  • Deliver individualized nursing care and administer medications
  • Provide emotional and physical support with a resident-first mindset
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and health screening protocols
  • Conduct clinical assessments and review lab results
  • Supervise restorative and palliative programs and oversee procedures such as catheterization, tube feedings, and dialysis
  • Operational Support and Compliance
  • Support and mentor Personal Support Workers
  • Address resident, family, and visitor concerns professionally
  • Document care electronically and work collaboratively with Registered Nurses and Nurse Leaders
  • Comply with Ontario’s Occupational Health & Safety regulations
  • Participate in regular training and team meetings

What you bring

Education and Commitment to Growth

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and RPNAO
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification

Experience and Expertise

  • Minimum of six months of nursing experience in long-term care preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems
  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills

Other Requirements

  • You will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained within the past six (6) months, as required by the Long-term care home act
  • Proof of a negative 2 Step TB test result along with a one-step negative result from within the last 2 (two) months, as required by the Long-term care home act
  • Hours of Work A part-time employee shall be available to work 10 to 15 shifts which may include holidays and weekends.
  • The work schedule shall be maintained as per Employer policies and CUPE 860 Collective Agreement.
  • Work Schedule - The Employer operates 24 hours, 7 (seven) days a week and your hours of work are based on resident needs which may include working days, afternoons, midnight and weekend shifts.
  • It is understood and agreed that employees will work in accordance with a shift schedule.
  • Shift schedules shall be posted at least seven (7) calendar days prior to such schedule becoming effective.
  • The schedule shall not be changed once it has been posted unless mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the affected employee.

What we are offering as a cupe 860 position, this role is on band 8 with a starting hourly rate of $33.57 - $36.04, plus additional 12% in lieu of benefits as per the collective agreement
