minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs) Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is proud to be part of the provincial implementation of minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs), an initiative aimed at enhancing nursing practice and strengthening quality of care across the health system. mNPRs set the minimum number of nurses providing care to patients on a given unit.
In British Columbia, mNPRs are developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) and health organizations.

Salary Details The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITY Please note that a resume and cover letter is required to apply for this specialty training opportunity.
Eligibility for the post-basic training education is prioritized to applicants with approximately one year recent acute medical/surgical experience upon program full-time start date.
The post-basic training education program requires full time attendance.
Funding will consist of 100% of wages, tuition and books during the training program.
Regional Perioperative Education Program (RPEP) Orientation day 1: November 6, 2026.
Full-Time Training: Nov 9 – Dec 18 Break: Dec 21 – Jan 1 (trainees can take vacation, personal days, or unpaid time off) Jan 4, 2027 - Mar 26, 2028. *course dates will be modified based on previous courses completed, VCH only funds for required courses.
Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training.
This will ensure that candidates are able to consolidate and apply skills in the specialty area that VCH has supported and funded candidates to complete.
In the event that a candidate leaves the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they were hired or VCH in under 18 months, VCH will seek to recover the cost of the program.
Training and post-training consolidation will be located at Richmond Hospital.
The work site for these positions following training and post-training consolidation will be at Richmond Hospital.
Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN). Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, weeknights, and on-call rotations.
Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
