Empower individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health issues to maintain independent living situations. Assist clients with apartment management, budgeting, and accessing medical and community resources.
Requires a High School Diploma and a valid Class 5 driver's license with access to a vehicle. Experience with intellectual disabilities is required, while post-secondary education in mental health or addictions is preferred.
SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING - Community Resource Worker (Casual)
New Directions is a non-profit social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that provide supports in a variety of settings and foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities. The organization’s mission is to provide responsive and individualized services that foster the hopes and dreams of people and their communities. Throughout the organization, staff and leadership work in many fields and in variety of shifts to deliver quality service and supports.
Supported Independent Living (S.I.L.) is one of the many services offered by New Directions. S.I.L. provides independent living supports to people who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues, and who experience barriers to living independently in the community.
The salary for all casual positions is $17.3239 per hour to start. Eligible increases will be applied as per policy. There are no minimum hours guaranteed for this position.
The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record, Child/Adult Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact checks. In addition, applicants will be required to provide a copy of their Driver’s License and a current Driver’s Abstract.
