Your responsibilities will include: Comprehensive Patient Care: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients/residents, addressing physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs, and modifies care plans based on patient progress.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Documentation: Reviews patient status, monitors progress, documents assessments and interventions, and reports changes in patient condition to designated staff, ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team.
Patient Education and Crisis Management: Identifies patient and family learning needs, provides educational materials, leads group sessions, and manages crisis and life-threatening situations through direct nursing interventions.
Team Support and Professional Development: Provides direction and guidance to other healthcare staff, participates in nursing orientation, shares clinical knowledge, engages in quality improvement activities, and supports nursing research to enhance practice.
Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit.

What You Bring Education: Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College Nurses and Midwives One year recent experience in acute psychiatry or tertiary mental health, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
