We are currently seeking compassionate, self-motivated, and dedicated Personal Support Workers to provide care throughout the Durham Region.
Scheduling Requirements Must be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule for the foreseeable future.
Must be available and willing to support multiple clients throughout the day.
Provide personal care to clients in accordance with their individualized care plans. Offer companionship and assistance with light housekeeping duties—doing whatever it takes to help clients remain safely and comfortably at home. Prepare meals according to the preferences and requests of the client and/or their family, including a variety of cuisines. Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) within the scope of practice of a Personal Support Worker. Support clients with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, linen changes, and other related care needs. Assist clients with transfers, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and mobility support. Ensure client safety at all times and use equipment safely and appropriately. Practice safely and competently within the limits of your training, experience, and job responsibilities. Complete all required documentation and records accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner. Qualifications & Requirements Ability to travel between assignments within designated service areas; the ability to travel to rural or remote locations is considered an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification from a recognized educational institution, or an international nursing or medical degree. Negative TB test completed within the last 12 months. Valid CPR and First Aid certification. Valid WHMIS 2015 Certificate of Completion. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, subject to any exemptions protected under the Ontario Human Rights Code. Proof of immunization against measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria is required. Immunization against Hepatitis B is strongly recommended. Valid Criminal Record Check completed within the last 12 months. Ability to identify and communicate client care concerns to Care Coordinators in a timely manner. Demonstrated sound judgment, the ability to work independently, and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Current and valid registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is considered an asset.
