Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Cardiac Rhythm Device Technologist practices in accordance with the established standards of professional practice to facilitate optimal clinical effectiveness of implanted arrhythmia management devices through the application of technical knowledge and skills to evaluate and manage device function. May aid with device analysis for cardiac implantable electronic device patients in the inpatient (OR/EPL) as required during device implantation, including assisting the physician during implant procedures and programming individual devices at correct values during implant and in the outpatient setting (Device Clinic). Provides interpretations, analyses and test/summary reports as required. Holds a valid BC driver s license, as local area travel may require the use of a personal vehicle where mileage reimbursement is applicable.
Completion of recognized Cardiology Technologist program with coursework in cardiac rhythm device technology.
Two years' recent related experience or equivalent.
Eligible for CSCT membership and IBHRE certification within two years.
Knowledge of current techniques and procedures.
Effective communication skills.
Ability to operate equipment and computerized systems.
