Nous recrutons un(e) travailleur(euse) de soutien familial bilingue permanent(e) pour l'équipe de soutien aux familles (bureau central de Midland). Le titulaire de ce poste aura pour mission d'apporter une aide supplémentaire aux familles en s'efforçant d'améliorer les relations familiales et les pratiques parentales, d'éviter le placement des enfants en protection par l’agence, d'aider les familles lors du retour de l'enfant à la maison ou dans une situation permanente, d'apporter une aide pendant les visites et de veiller à la sécurité des enfants. Le service sera fourni dans le cadre d'un plan culturellement approprié et mutuellement convenu, axé sur des tâches et comprenant des interventions fondées sur l'éducation et/ou qui s’appuies sur des preuves, conformément aux politiques et procédures de l'Agence, aux règlements, normes et directives du ministère et à la législation applicable. Ceci est un poste syndiqué (CUPE 5319).

The Job

We are recruiting for a permanent Family Support Worker (FSW) for the Family Support Team (Midland home office). The purpose of this position is to provide additional assistance to families by working to enhance family relationships & parenting practices, prevent the admission of children to care, assist families upon a child’s return home or to a permanent situation, provide assistance during access and to support safety of children. The service will be provided through a culturally appropriate and mutually agreed upon plan that is task focused with education and/or evidence informed interventions in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, Ministry Regulations, Standards and Directives and relevant legislation. This is a Bargaining Unit position with CUPE Local 5319.

Compétences • Études universitaires dans le domaine des services sociaux, ex

travailleur(euse) auprès des enfants et des jeunes ou diplôme en services sociaux ou toxicomanie et santé mentale.

Expérience de travail avec les enfants à risque et leurs familles.

Bonne connaissance du mandat de l’agence, de la CYFSA (Loi sur les services à l’enfance, à la jeunesse et à la famille), des politiques et procédures de l’agence et des normes et lignes directrices du ministère.

Bonne connaissance de l’impact et des risques des problèmes sociaux dans le domaine de la protection de l’enfance et compréhension des théories et des meilleures pratiques actuelles pertinentes.

A démontré sa capacité à rédiger des rapports clairs et concis et à respecter les délais et autres exigences administratives.

Être titulaire d'un permis de conduire valide et l'accès à un véhicule sont nécessaires.

Il faut obligatoirement être bilingue (français / anglais); les compétences seront testées.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in the Human Service field – i.e. Child & Youth Worker, Social Services or Addictions/Mental Health Diploma.
  • Experience working with at-risk children and their families.
  • Sound knowledge of the agency’s mandate, CYFSA (Child, Youth & Family Services Act), agency policies and procedures and Ministry Standards and Guidelines.
  • Sound knowledge of the impact and risk of social issues in child welfare and understanding of current relevant theories and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise reports and able to meet deadlines and other administrative requirements.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is required.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required; proficiency will be tested.

Rémunération

Compensation

The salary range is $60,598 to $74,767 commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions as per our Collective Agreement.
