The Interpreter/Translator provides high-quality, confidential, and culturally appropriate verbal interpretation and written translation services for clients and healthcare providers. This role supports both internal health centre programs and the external Cultural Interpretation & Translation Program.

The Interpreter/Translator provides high-quality, confidential, and culturally appropriate language services to support clients with limited English proficiency across all Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre programs. This role ensures accurate communication between clients and healthcare providers, improves service accessibility, and supports organizational goals of health equity and inclusive care.
This position also supports the Centre’s revenue-generating Cultural Interpretation & Translation Program (CITP) by offering fee-for-service interpretation and document translation to external partners when required.
The Interpreter / Translator reports to the Senior Manager, People and Operations. The overall accountability is to the Executive Director.

Candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma and 1–2 years of experience in interpretation or translation within healthcare or social services. Native-level proficiency in one or more target languages and excellent command of English are required.
