Responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management of clients requiring occupational therapy intervention. This includes establishing treatment goals, maintaining clinical records, and collaborating with health teams.
Requires a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Preference is given to candidates with three years of experience, including in-home assessments and medical/legal report writing.
The Occupational Therapist, under the direction of the Director Therapy & Rehab, Manager of Rehab, or designate, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Occupational Therapy intervention, in accordance with professional standards.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Occupational Therapist reports to the Director Therapy & Rehabilitation, Manager of Rehab or designate as appropriate.
Education Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy. Registered and in good standing with College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Experience Preference of three years providing Occupational Therapy services. Experience with in-home assessments and treatments; knowledge of auto insurance and the legal system, particularly medical/legal report writing is an asset. ADP is an asset.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE The Occupational Therapist must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed upon specific goals and objectives.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW Performance will be reviewed on an ongoing basis with a formal review if required. Input will be sought from employees and consultants at the branch and National Service Centre as applicable.
