Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant health discipline and maintain active membership in the associated regulatory body. Preferred experience includes 4-5 years working with children, youth, and families, especially within First Nations communities, along with training in developmental trauma treatment models.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Child and Youth Treatment Service (CYTS) embraces the goal of Jordan’s Principle to ensure that all children and youth have access to the health services they need in a timely manner. This Mental Health Clinician position will focus on providing virtual and in person mental health service to children, adolescents and their families in First Nations communities to support this initiative.

Establishing and maintaining liaison with First Nation community resources, health services, other Jordan’s Principle partners and stakeholders is an important part of the role. Working collaboratively with community partner to support competency, resource awareness and collaboration with other CYTS service areas are key parts of the role.
The Mental Health Clinician will work in collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, nursing station staff, community service providers, clients and their families.
This position is based in Winnipeg with some travel required to First Nations communities throughout Manitoba.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
