The Cardiology Technologist provides high-quality non-invasive diagnostic cardiac testing, including stress testing, ECG, and Holter monitoring, while also performing safe diagnostic examinations and adjustments for cardiac implanted electronic devices (CIEDs). Responsibilities also include collaborating with physicians on device interrogation issues, assisting in CIED implantation, and participating in patient education.
Candidates must hold certification in good standing with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) and have successfully completed a cardiac diagnostic course or equivalent, along with current BCLS provider certification. A minimum of one year of experience related to cardiac device testing in a similar setting is required, with experience in advanced arrhythmia interpretation being an asset.
$35.93 - $41.37 Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) Provides optimum quality non-invasive diagnostic cardiac testing that will include Cardiac Stress Testing, ECG, Holter Set up and Scanning, Ambulatory Blood Pressure set up and reporting and Simple Spirometry Performs safe and relevant diagnostic examinations, testing, and adjustments with respect to cardiac implanted electronic devices (CIEDs) - this includes, but not limited to, pacemakers, ICDs, implantable loop recorders. Collaborates with physicians to address any concerns/issues identified during device interrogation (ie: troubleshooting) Assists in CIED implantation and operating analyzer software/programmers. Responds to emergency situations appropriately, if the need arises. Participates in patient and family education post implant. Safely operates and troubleshoots device clinic equipment, and demonstrates concise and accurate documentation and adherence to unit and hospital policies and procedures.
Certification with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT)/Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist required, and demonstration of ‘good standing’. Successful completion of a cardiac diagnostic course or equivalent Current BCLS provider certification required. Certified to perform exercise stress testing, holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and cardiac device interrogation and programming asset. Experience in advanced arrhythmia interpretation, pacemaker care and advanced cardiac knowledge OR experience is an asset. Able to work full shifts wearing a mask and lead apron Minimum 1 year experience related to Cardiac device testing in a similar setting Demonstrates superior customer service and teamwork skills Adaptable to a fast paced environment and demonstrated ability to work independently Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, and receptive to feedback Effective computer, MUSE, and Meditech knowledge is preferred.
