The role involves providing comprehensive physiotherapy services, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention planning, implementation, and evaluation to maintain optimal function and prevent disability. Additionally, the therapist will provide education and guidance to other healthcare providers and participate in clinical supervision and training for students.
Candidates must possess an entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university or an approved equivalent, and must be registered on the Active Practice Register of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba. Preferred qualifications include recent clinical experience and bilingualism in French/English, alongside strong communication, organizational, and physical capabilities for client care.

Provides quality physiotherapy services including consultation, client assessment, physiotherapy diagnosis, planning, intervention implementation and evaluation, program planning and implementation, discharge planning and follow-up in order to maintain optimal function, prevent disability and promote well-being. Provides education and guidance to other healthcare providers or people working within the educational system. Provides clinical supervision and training for students and participates in the education of other healthcare professionals upon request. Maintains professional accountability, professional judgment and reasoning with a high-level of communication and collaboration.
Victoria General Hospital has a mandate to provide service in French; preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates.
This indefinite term may expire upon the return of the current incumbent to their position, subject to a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours’ notice.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
