Whyalla Hospital and Health Services

Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is one of the largest regional hospitals in South Australia, offering 75 beds, including flex beds and a dedicated High Dependency Unit.

We provide a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, medical and surgical services, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatient clinics.

Our Cancer Resource Centre is among the largest in regional SA, featuring six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care, and counselling services - helping patients receive vital treatment close to home.

We are also proud to be one of only three regional stroke services in South Australia, delivering specialised stroke treatment 24/7 in partnership with metropolitan stroke units.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing and/or midwifery services within a healthcare setting, supporting the delivery of safe and effective patient care. You will develop from a novice practitioner to a proficient level of professional practice, consolidating your knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and experience. In this role, you will be accountable for your own standards of nursing/midwifery care and for activities delegated to others, contributing to a high standard of care within the team.

About You

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
