Candidates must be a Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians and possess a passion for improving the lives of pets and owners. Experience in neurology or a special interest in surgery is considered an asset.

Our Candidates Require: To be Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians Experience in neurology or special interest in surgery is an asset A passion for making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners A positive attitude, enthusiasm for the job, and a relentless drive to excel every day Skills and Effort Requirements Under the guidance of the Surgery DVMs, your duties will include: Assisting Doctors, Technicians and other personnel with the administration of medication, performing procedures, restraining dogs and cats Ability to identify and report changes to doctors Assist team in setting up for surgery for an effortless transition between surgery prep areas and the operating room Make sure cages and animals are properly identified and set within protocol Ability to assist in walking dogs several times a day to provide exercise and time for elimination of bowels and bladder Ability to perform radiographs using hands free techniques Willingness to scrub into operating rooms to assist surgeons Follow treatment orders on an electronic system (e.g., Ezyvet, VetRadar) Experience working with complex surgical cases Triaging emergency patients and history-taking Performing and submitting laboratory samples Administering oral, IM, IV medications
