The role involves providing occupational therapy services through assessment, consultation, and interventions to promote functional independence for clients of all ages with various health needs in community settings. Responsibilities include collaborating on treatment goals, developing care plans, identifying environmental barriers, and educating clients and caregivers on adaptive strategies.
Candidates must possess current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and be eligible for Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists membership. A minimum of two years of recent, related clinical experience in a community or home health setting is required, along with a valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
The salary range for this position is CAD $45.15 - $56.17 / hour Job Summary
Provides occupational therapy to clients of all ages, and/or adults and transitioning youth with developmental disabilities, with acute, rehabilitative, chronic or palliative health care needs in community-based settings; educates clients, caregivers and staff regarding rehabilitation interventions; advocates for clients with community agencies and funding sources. Care is client-centered, based on goals and outcomes determined in collaboration with the client and caregivers in order to provide safe and quality client care.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. Two (2) years' recent, related clinical experience in a community or home health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
