Candidates must have 4-5 years of experience in mental health and addictions, with a master's degree in a relevant health discipline required. Active membership in a regulatory body is also necessary.

The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Reporting to the Manager Health Services of Access, Intake, Assessment, and Coordination, the incumbent is responsible for providing a welcoming point of contact for individuals and their families/natural supports and referral sources seeking services for individuals experiencing mental health and addictions concerns. The role includes developing effective alliances with callers, collecting information, triaging and evaluating risk, and crisis intervention where indicated. The clinician works collaboratively with primary health care providers, individuals, families/natural supports, and services/agencies to help determine the service best suited to meet the individual’s needs. The clinician is responsible for liaising with provincial mental health and addictions services for individuals across the lifespan, the stabilization facility designated under the Youth Drug Stabilization Act, and Compass, the in-house program for youth to address their substance use. Experience 4-5 years’ experience working with individuals in mental health and addictions required. Experience in the intake process will be considered an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Master’s degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited education institution required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration Active member in good standing of an applicable associated regulatory body.
and Skills Demonstrated skill in assessment and triage, as well as the ability to provide service consultation to a variety of referral sources. Current and comprehensive knowledge of regional health authorities’ (inclusive of Shared Health’s) Mental Health and Addictions program services, as well as community services and resources. Ability to use ambulatory module of Altera Sunrise. An understanding of, and sensitivity to, working with culturally diverse populations is essential.
