The primary duties involve cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and related equipment for the Operating Room, alongside maintaining stock levels and assisting with room setups. Responsibilities also include disassembling and reassembling anesthetic equipment, picking surgical supplies per request, and transporting specimens.
Candidates must have a Grade 12 education and successful completion of a Sterile Supply Processing Program, plus at least one year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Required abilities include knowledge of surgical terminology, mathematical aptitude, effective communication, and the physical capacity to perform the job duties.
The salary range for this position is CAD $30.67 - $30.67 / hour Detailed Overview
Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, sterilizes and distributes supplies, surgical instruments and related equipment for the Operating Room (OR); disassembles, cleans, washes and reassembles anaesthetic and related equipment as required; transports anaesthetic and surgical instruments and/or equipment to the assigned area and maintains equipment and supplies, as per established procedures; picks surgical supplies/instruments as per established procedures and/or physician's request and transports specimens as needed.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Grade 12, successful completion of Sterile Supply Processing Program, plus one (1) year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
