The Registered Veterinary Technician will work closely with the assigned Surgeon on appointments and surgical procedures, which includes assisting and performing anesthesia across multiple hospital services. Key duties also involve maintaining accurate medical records, handling client communications, preparing medications and estimates, and performing technical skills like physical exams and placing catheters.
Candidates must be a Registered Veterinary Technician/Technologist with a strong dedication to providing the best patient experience, requiring high accuracy, organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities. Essential attributes include the capacity to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing environments, and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.
Existing Compensation: $27.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills Bonus: $2500 signing bonus Toronto Veterinary Emergency Hospital (TVEH) is a large 24-hour emergency and referral hospital located in Scarborough, ON, and we are welcoming a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT to join our Anesthesia and Surgery Team. While our network is large, we still offer that local community feeling, mentorship, and additional training! Work with their assigned Surgeon on appointments & surgical procedures Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude and the ability to put pets and pet parents at ease Keep accurate medical records, answering messages and client communications Prepare medications, estimates, and billing Assist and perform anesthesia for patients across multiple services within the hospital Technical skills: physical examinations, patient assessment, venipuncture, catheter placement, peripheral nerve blocks, epidurals, arterial catheters and orthopedic radiographs.
