The Specialist Physician provides specialized medical and surgical services for female reproductive health, managing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and care for pregnancy and gynaecological conditions in clinical and surgical settings. Responsibilities include performing necessary diagnostic tests, administering treatments, performing authorized surgical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Candidates must possess a Medical degree and completion of an approved residency program in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, along with certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). Licensure with the provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons and good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) are also mandatory requirements.

The Specialist Physician (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) is responsible for providing specialized medical and surgical services related to female reproductive health, including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of pregnancy, childbirth, and gynaecological conditions. The Physician delivers care in outpatient clinical settings and, where authorized, hospital and surgical environments, in accordance with provincial legislation, College standards, and evidence-based medical practice. Possession of an additional subspecialty (e.g., Maternal-Fetal Medicine, REI, or Urogynaecology) is considered a significant asset.
The salary for this position falls within a defined range and will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the needs of the organization.
