Job Description

In collaboration with the health team, the primary health nurse practitioner will provide primary health services to the community. This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; initiating and participating in community development initiatives and participating in evaluative projects. The Primary Health Care Nurse RN (NP) reports to a Manager of Primary Health Care. Incumbent is self-directed and requires minimal supervision.

Experience Three (3) full-time years of experience as a Registered Nurse Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Registered Nurse Practitioner (RN(NP)) Other Education and Training Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS) Knowledge and Abilities Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to provide holistic care to individuals,families & the community Ability to adapt to and implement change Demonstrated initiative, self-direction, organizational & leadership abilities Excellent public relations skills Demonstrates ability in verbal and non-verbal communication techniques Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care Other Information Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Ability to travel when required Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
