I am applying for the Registered Practical Nurse position at Pickering Ridge Health Centre. I hold an independent assignment of six stable patients on a complex continuing care unit, and I chair the wound care rounds our unit runs each week.
The split with the registered nurse is agreed at the start of each shift rather than assumed, so the unstable half of the floor sits with them and the stability of my own patients is reviewed openly. Chairing wound rounds means bringing photographs and staging to the table and being questioned on them.
