I am applying for the Personal Support Worker position at Tecumseh Park Long-Term Care Home. I support a consistent assignment of ten residents on a secure dementia unit, covering personal care, meals and mobility.
Because the assignment stays the same, I know what each resident is like on an ordinary day, which is the only reason a change in behaviour or intake gets reported early rather than after it becomes a problem. My home care years taught me to make those calls working alone.
Your posting notes that the home is moving to consistent assignments across all units. That change asks more of the first few weeks than people expect, because the residents have to get used to a new person as much as the other way around.
I hold a Personal Support Worker certificate, Gentle Persuasive Approaches training in dementia care, and current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C.
